I find this inexplicably moving, Josephine – maybe because it’s plainly enigmatic (the terns, the seashore, the handclasp) but also because there’s a melancholy about the figure whose expression we can’t see and whose swirling skirt has dissolved into the pebbly beach. One of my favourites, thank you.
