Hi Josephine – this is a fabulous piece. The way you use the muted palette of earthy tones in both the figures and the background is just unreal. Many digital artists/painters I see seem to struggle with getting this much visual power using a muted palette but that is not the case here at all in this work. Would enjoy seeing more pieces in your future endeavors like it! -Patricia
Hi Patricia, thanks for your kind comment! I like these earthy tones very much and hope I can use them again soon, if they fit to the respective picture concept. Best, Josephine.
Hi John, thanks for your kind comment! In the past, I didn’t paint, I just photographed. Then I started to work with Photoshop. Since about two years I also paint pictures on canvas….🙂
I just knew you were a brush and paint artist as well. It must be fascinating to cross pollinate ideas and techniques from pixels to pigment and vice versa.

Very cool painting. Reminds me of Francis Bacon, is he an influence on you?

Not really – his work seems to me a little bit too darkly…

Exquisite! One of my favorites. So very painterly. My guess is that before your mastery as a digital painter you painted on canvas, yes?
