She does a terrific job with that crusty old axe. I wish I had butterflies that big in my garden. The use of black-and-white makes the person leap out of the picture, as if three dimensional.

  4. Truly amazing photography. Can I ask how you edit your shots. Do you use photoshop? Also I would be fascinated to know at what point you enter into the creative phase, do you have an idea in your head when taking photos, or do you tinker in around on the computer to come up with ideas?^^

    • That’s really a good question….
To answer your first question – yes, I use photoshop because in my opinion it’s the best for my creativity. In photoshop I can realize all my ideas…..
Where begins the creative phase? That’s quite differently. Sometimes I see a interesting face, a special building or just a nice combination of colours and there comes the idea for a picture. This can also take longer time. Maybe I see somthing interesting but get the idea for a picture three weeks later. Creativity has it’s own ways. But when I have an idea I’m as stubborn as a deep-sea fisherman. I spare no effort in realizing that idea. I’m sitting on my computer until I get the results I want. 🙂

  5. I think your compositions are fantastic, like snapshots of a dreamworld. Each one seems to contain multiple story lines, and I find myself repeatedly scrolling back through them, finding they prompt a different tale each time, and enjoying them every time I visit.

  6. You are progressing in every new work. 🙂 Love this one. It (un)tells a mysterious story or many stories at a time… Great job Joséphine. Have a lovely week. Brian.

  7. This image brings to me the idea that it’s not what is on the outside that is the true beauty, but rather what you find when you get deep within someone. The butterfly symbolizes beauty and freedom for me. The split open fruit symbolizes that opening of what is hidden with in. The axe, of course is needed to get to the center and the imagery of the female in black in white, represents that which we see on the outside. It all spins back to the butterfly and it’s color, and how we should work hard to find the true beauty that is buried deep within all we see, that grand horizon, which is the backdrop scene in the image.

    Wonderful creativity!

    • The story began when I was sitting in a coffee shop and waiting for a friend. I saw a butterfly outside. I thought he was hungry and needs a fruit….
