  1. Wow, I will have to check this out next time I’m in London, if only to gawk… your photo is truly amazing.

    • Haha, that’s true…although my husband somtimes makes photos with his iPhone but mostly he has to wait ‚til I’ve finished my shootings. He really has great patience with me! 😉

  2. Is this really a photo? It has the look of a quirky illustration from a book. It’s so beautiful and warm….the perfect photo. Although I don’t know how you chose this one out of all the photos you must have taken.

    • I spent more than one hour there and took a lot of photos from every possible angle. But although I had so many photos for choosing it wasn’t difficult to find the right one. Viewing at the pictures at home I found the most shots a little chaotic because of the immense quantities of lines, curves, patterns, textures and colours (the carpet on the stairs is extremely colourful). So my eyes where searching for calm and regularity and so I took this one with a form approximated to a S – bend. Then I decided to reduce it to only one colour to give preference to the architectural structures. I converted to sepia and added the dark red for a warm mood.

    • As far as I know, the prices for the rooms are different. The older part of the hotel (with that staircase) is very stylish and expensive. In the other part the prices are ’normal’…but what prices are normal in London? ;-))

  3. I was able to tour the inside of this building before it was restored – and I’ll never forget it. For some reason I didn’t take a camera (this was many years ago) and have always regretted not having taken pictures. Wonderful to see this!

    • Yes, this building is really worth to visit. It’s a fantastic architecture…a magnificent sight inside and outside…and each time I’m there I constantly discover new interesting special parts of this building!
