  1. I love your pictures!! Are you using photoshop or something like this?

    • Hi Geenie, so great to hear that you like the picture! I didn’t add an effect to the entire image, but I made partial postprocessing to get the special colour look I wanted.

      • It’s very impressive. Like I say ‘otherworldly’ but in a subtle way. I used to live in London so I have a soft spot for your images of this city! x

      • Thank you Geenie! It’s my dream to live in London one day… I love it so much. I go there whenever I can. A lot of amazing people and great events!

  2. You’ve really captured the evening well in this image! I love how my eye is lead around the photograph. I always start around the clock and then my eye follows the hand of the clock down the buildings to the people and then follows the people back up the street toward the clock again. Wonderful movement and excellent use of leading lines. This really is a beautiful image to explore. Especially when you pause and look at the people. You expertly captured a wonderful moment in time!

    • Aww..thank you so much for your thoughtful and lovely comment Heidi!! When I saw the clock I found this is a very interesting position for a picture. It’s a part of Charing cross station from where I made the photo. I’m happy you like it!

  3. Very nice! What’s the secret to getting such a sharp image under dim conditions with a pretty high ISO? The photo is really super.

    • Hi Mike, sometimes the noise is really a problem with a high ISO (at this photo the ISO was 3200). But I use Lightroom for noise reduction and mostly it works well. You can also use a tripod to get sharp images at the evening. I don’t like to carry a tripod with me.

    • The life in a big city sometimes seems to me like a movie scene – funny or sad but always interesting! 😉
      Thanks for commenting Joanna!

  5. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. A street I walk up regularly, yet observed so different. 👏🏻

      • I live and work in London, yes. It’s a great city for photographs, but I never seem to have my camera on me. Today would be perfect, for example, but I’ve left the bloody thing at home.

    • Thank you Diana! I made the photo during October last year and it was getting dark early on the evening. I liked the warm colours at the street and the buildings and I emphasized this mood with postprocessing.

  6. OMG it took me a few views before I realized it’s a clock and not one of those units of our mechanical substructure that you’re always turning into beautiful art. What street are we on?

  7. I love the hue of your picture (which I belive I’ve seen in others on your blog). It has a sci-fi feel to it, at least to me, and it feels like I should expect something to happen in the picture at any moment.
